When We Are Closed
NHS 111
If you need to see a doctor urgently when the surgery is closed, you should dial 111. The NHS 111 service is free of charge to landlines and mobiles
If you need urgent medical attention that cannot wait until the surgery is open you will be put through to the GP Out of Hours Service.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Attending A&E
Examples of when it is right and appropriate to attend A&E without delay are:
- Major injuries such as injuries from road traffic accidents.
- Falls from a considerable height.
- Major Head injuries.
- Collapse.
- Severe breathing difficulty.
- Severe chest pain.
- Severe haemorrhage.
- Poisoning.
- Extensive burns
